Star

Why I made it?

All my siblings made origami when they were little, my sisters made stars, and my brother made cranes and many other origami. My siblings are older than me but it’s exciting to know that we had some similar interests. The first origami I learned was the origami star because when I was in elementary schools I participated in the entrepreneur show, then I had to create a product to sell to the kids at my school. So, I sold origami star jars, and my slogan was if you buy a star jar you wish may come true. I didn’t know the meaning of the star jar back then, but I wanted to learn it now and see how far off I was.

Meaning

The origami stars are a symbol of love and admiration, the person who receives a jar of origami stars is said to have good Luck.

Interesting Story

The story of the Origami star jar because of a little Japanese girl named Hoshi. She admired how the stars shied so brightly in the night sky. She was not fond of meteor showers because the shining stars would fall. She watched as the stars fell and disappeared; she wanted the stars to return to the sky so, every star that passed her that night was folded into an origami star. She ended up with only 100. The next day she saw only a few stars that remained in the sky. She then recorded the other children in the village to help her in her act of saving the stars. Altogether they made 2000 and divided their stars into their own jars. The fallowing night the sky was filled up with bright shining stars once again.
