Frog

Why I made it?

I chose a frog because my brother likes them and since he forgot to teach me how to make one, I chose to learn myself.

Meaning

The frog is also symbol of good fortune or wealth because the Japanese word for “Frog” and “To Return” is a homophone, "kaeru". Some people in Japan keep a small frog figure or origami on hand in their wallets to secure constant wealth and to spend wisely so that wealth will return to them. This is so that wealth will “return” to you. Some Japanese may bring frog charms to casinos as luck

Interesting story

There are some references of the origami frog being used as a charm by geisha as hope that a patron would return. The name of the patron would be written on the back of the frog and then hidden away in the back of a drawer.
